** Another chance of rain and upper foothill snow showers late Sunday into Monday! **
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everybody!
27°F – Currently, the “Big Hill” has the closure signs up (soft closure) , with icy and snowy areas on the hill and around the area this evening. Use caution when driving.
Outlook and Forecast: Christmas day started with cloudy skies and a few light snow flurries with cold temperatures throughout the day. More cold unsettled weather will return once again late Sunday into Monday as a minor disturbance moves in from the north, bringing another chance of foothill rain, with light snow above 3000 ft. We could pick up possibly a trace to about an inch of snow tops Sunday night into Monday. The rest of the week looks mostly sunny and cool with temperature near normal.
The Long-range forecast models continue to show mainly dry weather through the end of the year into the first week of January. After that, a pattern change around the 7th of January looks possible, with milder, wetter, more El Nino type storms affecting California. The storms should then increase later in January.
