88° – The cool down over the weekend was brief as temperatures are on the rise once again here in Western Nevada County.
The 4 corners high pressure ridge situated in the desert SW will continue to bring us hot weather for the next several days with Sierra thunderstorms likely, mainly south of Lake Tahoe.
Increasing moisture from the monsoonal flow Wednesday and Thursday may even bring a slight chance of sprinkles to the foothills later in the week.
High temperatures will remain toasty, topping out today to 95-99 for the upper foothills (Banner Mtn / Cascade Shores), to 98 -104 in the Grass Valley / Nevada City areas.
Wednesday will be 2-3 degrees hotter with highs 98-106 for the foothills, depending on elevation and location. Lows will remain warm as well, dropping to the upper 60’s and 70’s.
We’ll begin cooling Thursday and into the weekend with highs dropping by Sunday to the mid 80’s to low 90’s.
The 2014-2015 rainfall year ends today so I’ll be tallying up the totals in tomorrow’s update.
Stay cool everyone!
